This auction is for a vintage Toshiba Satellite 5105-S501 laptop. This laptop was donated to our department by the original owner. The laptop was tested to power on and boot into Windows XP Professional. Per our security policy, all personal data and documents have been purged. The battery no longer holds a charge but the OEM AC adapter is included. Cosmetic wise: The laptop is in pretty decent shape. The lid is reflective which doesn’t play too well with the camera. The lid has some marks and scratches on it. The bottom chassis doesn’t have too many marks on it. There are some scratches on the access panels. The keyboard and palm rest are in good condition. The stickers and badges on the palm rest are still intact. Performance wise: The laptop performs well for its age. There are not too many performance drops but there will be some lag when playing games like Doom 3 or any memory intensive program. Performance drops are to be expected with vintage hardware and software. NOTE: The internal CMOS battery is dead and needs to be replaced.
