ANTIQUE NERESHEIMER HANAU GERMAN .812 SILVER WINE CHAMPAGNE DESSERT HOLDERS SET OF 4. I BELIEVE THESE ARE B. NERESHEIMER AND SOHNE FROM 1893 BUT COULD BE LUDWIG NERESHEIMER & CO. FROM 1903. THESE STUNNING SILVER PIECES SHOW INTRICATE DESIGN AND CRAFTMANSHIP FROM THE LATE 1800’S FROM THE HANAU GERMANY SILVER MASTERS. THEY ORIGINALLY HAD A GLASS INSERT FOR WINE, CHAMPAGNE OR DESSERT. UNFORTUNATELY THE GLASS INSERTS ARE LONG GONE SO ARE NOT INCLUDED. THE PIERCED OPENWORK AND REPOUSSE? IS BEAUTIFUL WITH LEAVES, FLOWERS AND BIRDS. COULD POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN A WEDDING CHALICE. THEY HAVE A SOFT GOLD COLOR (GILT?) STERLING SILVER. EACH ONE HAS STAMPS FOR NERESHEIMER (N INSIDE A SHIELD) 13 INSIDE A SQUARE ( 13/16 STERLING SILVER MARK OR .812 PERCENT SILVER CONTENT) AND A BUNCH OF GRAPES (WHICH I BELIEVE TO BE HANAU SYMBOL) AS WELL AS “GERMANY” STAMPED ON EACH. SOME HAVE THREE SYMBOLS AND “GERMANY” ON THE RIM OF THE HOLDER AND SOME HAVE TWO SYMBOLS AND “GERMANY” ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CUPPED PORTION. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE PICTURES THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL PATTERN. I HAVE CLEANED THE FIRST ONE IN THE PICTURE BUT THE OTHERS HAVE TARNISH AND WILL NEED TO BE CLEANED. THIS IS FOR A SET OF FOUR EACH. THEY MEASURE 5.4 INCHES TALL, 3.5 INCHES ACROSS THE TOP AND 3.0 INCHES ACROSS THE BOTTOM BASE. THE CUP IS ABOUT 2.25 INCHES DEEP AND THE STEM IS ABOUT 3.25 INCHES TALL.
