Dyson DC17 Animal Vacuum Motor Pulley, Gear, Sprocket, To Drive Brush Roll . Condition is New.A customer has reported this worked on a DC07 Animal. This is the pulley that goes on the motor that drives the brush roller. I made it to fit my vacuum. I do not have access to the size range for the shaft from Dyson so it may be too tight on your motor shaft due to shaft size or residual glue on the shaft. If so, you can sand your shaft down. Many customers have indicated it fit perfectly and out of over 120 sold I have no feedback that said it was too tight. I had to use a small gear puller to remove the old pulley. It may come off without a puller if you heat it first to break down the glue. I have two listings for this pulley. One is for a pulley only and one is for a pulley and washer. Remove your pulley before buying a new one to see if your old pulley has a separate washer on each side of the gear (like mine did) or if the washer toward the motor is built into the pulley with a separate washer on the nut side. If you have two separate washers buy the pulley only. If you have the motor side washer build into the pulley buy the pulley and washer. Place the washer that comes with the pulley on the motor side. The new washer is about twice as thick as the nut side washer you will re-use. The washers have a taper on the face that goes toward the belt. This helps the belt track smoothly. Install so the side with black marker is away from the belt. If replacing the original washer(s) lay a straight edge on the face of the washer to determine which side has the taper. I put some low strength Thread Locker Loc-Tight on the shaft, not the screw threads, when I installed this on my vacuum cleaner. I put one on my vacuum over 6 years ago and it is still working great. They are made in the USA out of A2 tool steel and are much more durable that the original one. If you are replacing the pulley it is probably worn badly and has damaged the belt.
