Choosing a Gauge Gauge refers to the thickness of the post that is inserted into the piercing. When choosing a gauge size it’s best to measure one that you already have that fits nicely, with a caliper. If you do not have one, you can use a standard ruler with millimeters 14G – 1.6mm (Thickest) 16G – 1.2mm18G – 1.0mm 20G – 0.8mm 22G – 0.6mm (Thinnest) Choosing a Nose Stud Style Straight Stud -15mm Post – Choose this style if you would like to bend the item yourself into a nose screw style or have someone do it for you. These are not meant to wear straight. Straight Stud -10mm Post – Choose this style if you would like to bend the item yourself into a standard L Bend style or have someone do it for you. How to Wear a Nose Hugger® Place your nose hugger® in your piercing the same way you would any other nose jewelry.
